About
After a double training in archaeology and history at the university of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Licence, Master 1), I specialized me in archaeogeography (Master 2, PhD), the discipline which studies the space of past societies, in all its dimensions (planned morphologies and evolutions/transmissions in the long lasting).
In my PhD (under the direction of Gérard Chouquer, CNRS), I have studied, in the Southern Vendée (Western France), the evolution of the road networks and of the plots of land over the long lasting. I studied too – and critiqued – some scientific objects of the research on the medieval landscapes.
Since February 2010, I have a post-doc in archaeogeography at the Centro de Estudos Arqueológicos das Universidades de Coimbra e Porto (CEAUCP, Coimbra, Portugal). The aim of my research is to highlight the agrarian planned morphologies during the Middle Ages studying the region of Alentejo, in southern Portugal. There, History offers an ideal context for the analysis of these forms because of the Reconquista and of the process of Repoblación. The historians have studied well the phenomenon of allocation and of redistribution of the parcels of land which takes place within the context of agrarian colonization. But they did not analyze the forms of the parcels which follow from it. So, this is the aim of my current research : show all the potential of such a subject and contributes to recognize the medieval agrarian planned morphology in a country where it is ignored.
